Crowd-control barriers on swivel casters tell the story of an ever-shifting boundary. A boundary of what we accept as moral; a boundary of how compliant we are; a boundary of when we truly take action against injustice; a boundary of our humanity, of our empathy and understanding.
It also reflects the development of nations that perceive themselves as omnipotent and therefore literally move or stretch their borders, because they are in the position and possess the means to do so — at the expense of their own population or inhabitants. Supported by money that is not used to improve or solve societal issues, but for personal gain and power. That same money is also deployed to defend or justify the moral boundary through channels of communication.
But like all great powers that have ever risen, they too will eventually fall when the population acts collectively and no longer allows itself to be guided by imposed boundaries

Camino, Way, path, or route.
A journey is not always a literal one; a journey can take place in the mind of a person, just as a writer travels through the world of their story. Encounters, stories, places, and vistas. Every step is a thought. It hardly matters whether it is spiritual or filled with everyday concerns and obstacles. We are the journey; we count the steps or the seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years. Every step is new, every thought slightly different. Until we reach our goal — or is the journey itself more important, the process of moving from our being toward our striving?
How do you find peace in your being, in your inner self, in your core? That too can be a journey of small steps. A mantra repeated with each step, like counting or sliding beads through your fingers to begin again. As a day begins and ends, as a life begins and ends, we transform — spiritually or physically. We let the beads pass through our hands; we leave a trace of who we are and where we come from. That trace is connected to where we began and to those with whom we have spoken or exchanged thoughts, with or without words — because sometimes there are no words, only a feeling. Our lives are filled with matter and technology, yet in essence we search for our deepest longing — what holds value and what does not — and we leave traces along our path. PURE, de Kracht van Verbinding In deze installatie verken en onderzoek ik de fascinerende wereld van magnetisme, elektriciteit en het hart – drie elementen die ons dagelijks leven doordringen, vaak zonder dat we het beseffen. Magnetisme: Een onzichtbare kracht die onze wereld vormgeeft, van de kompasnaald die ons leidt tot de ongrijpbare aantrekkingskracht tussen mensen. Het staat symbool voor de verborgen krachten die ons verbinden, zelfs op afstand. Magnetisme is ook de basis waarmee we elektriciteit opwekken en is in wezen ook de basis van ons bestaan. Elektriciteit: De energie die onze moderne wereld aandrijft, die licht brengt in de duisternis en beweging creëert uit stilstand. Het staat voor de dynamische en vaak onzichtbare stromen die ons omringen en ons in staat stellen te communiceren en te creëren. De bron van de levensenergie, de verbinder of het signaal tussen het brein en het lichaam. Hart: Het kloppende centrum van ons bestaan, bron van leven en emotie. Het hart symboliseert zowel de biologische als de emotionele energie die ons menselijk maakt, de ritmische puls die ons verbindt met onszelf en anderen. Door deze drie krachten samen te brengen in één kunstwerk, nodigt de installatie de toeschouwer uit om na te denken over de onderliggende verbindingen in ons leven. Het is een uitnodiging om stil te staan bij de onzichtbare maar voelbare energieën die ons verbinden en in beweging houden. Krachten die onzichtbaar zijn, maar essentieel voor het bestaan. Interactie: De installatie reageert op de aanwezigheid van de toeschouwer, waarbij de elektromagnetische velden subtiel veranderen op basis van nabijheid en beweging. Dit creëert een unieke ervaring waarin de bezoeker een actieve deelnemer wordt, zich bewust van de eigen invloed op het kunstwerk en de omgeving.
